Cowlitz County commissioners OK updated campground code

Campground and RV park owners can more easily add spaces after the Cowlitz County commissioners Tuesday approved the updated code.

The commissioners also split the previous campground code, which combined planning and health regulations, into separate sections to clarify compliance and enforcement.

In unincorporated areas, the county has 26 campgrounds, with 18 locally owned, said senior planner Adam Trimble.

Health codes also apply to three other facilities within city limits, Season Long, environmental health manager, said during a January Board of Health meeting. Most are a mix of tents and RV sites, he said.

MS New Software Direct Pay Permit Available on DOR Website

Mississippi’s new direct pay permit for purchases of computer software and computer software services is now available on the Department of Revenue’s website. The Mississippi Legislature authorized this new permit earlier this year as part of the state’s comprehensive legislation on the taxation of remote software and services (see prior coverage here), which went into effect July 1.

This new and unique permit allows software consumers to remove vendors from the sales and use a tax collection process and instead handle those accruals and remittances internally. This will be very important when unbundling payments covering both

The Dutch government collapsed over immigration policy

The crisis was caused by the desire of Prime Minister Mark Rutte, of the conservative right-wing VVD party, to limit the flow of asylum seekers to the Netherlands. Tensions came to a head this week when Rutte demanded that three other parties in the ruling coalition – the Christian Democrats CDA, the liberal centrists D66 and the small Protestant party ChristenUnie – agree to set a quota for the number of children from areas of armed conflict who can obtain asylum in the Netherlands, reports AFP. MeWe opening up profiles for web view without an account

On July 1st, Elon Musk announced that Twitter would be closing its users’ profile from view on the web, if you do not have a Twitter account. Since Twitter’s launch, profiles and Tweets could be seen by anyone, even without an account. Musk attributed the move to a rash of data scrapping that Twitter is trying to get a handle on. MeWe, an alternative social network that I, personally, use and where we have a considerable following, has announced the polar opposite.
