As a die-hard Apple user, traveling with the right tech is essential.
Every great trip requires planning, and besides logistics, there’s the tech you need to bring. Over the years, I’ve figured out what tech I absolutely need to take with me.
I now rely on my iPhone 17 Pro Max for all the photos and videos I shoot, but I need other items to ensure a successful and enjoyable trip.
Travel Essentials
Here’s a list of the gear I bring with me on my trips. This is the stuff I almost always bring no matter where I’m going.
I bring a MacBook Neo on longer trips where I’ll shoot a lot of photos and video, so I can browse and manage my shots after each day is done. The MacBook Neo is lightweight, fast, and durable.
For international trips, I use Saily for international eSIMs. With a second eSIM, I can switch between it and my carrier’s offering to get the best possible connection.

Power and Charging
I also bring an Anker Nano Travel Adapter, which works in over 200 countries and can charge five devices at once.
I like bringing coiled USB charging cables because they’re easier to manage.
Audio and Accessories
I prefer the Apple AirPods Pro over the AirPods 4 with ANC because the Pro’s in-ear fit seals out more noise and makes for a more comfortable trip on an airplane.
I usually watch something on my iPhone during long flights, but sometimes the in-flight entertainment has something good.
When I can, I plug in my own Sony MDR-EX15LP wired earphones to the airplane’s jack.
In practice, having the right tech gear can make a big difference for people who travel frequently.

It’s not just about having the latest devices, but also about having the right accessories and tools to stay connected and productive on the go.
For example, having a portable power bank can be a lifesaver during long flights or trips to areas with limited power outlets.
When traveling, it’s also important to consider the little things that can make a big difference.
For instance, bringing a good pair of earphones or a portable charger can help reduce stress and make the trip more enjoyable.
By packing the right tech gear, travelers can stay focused on their journey and make the most of their time away from home.
