Sweden and Finland to ask Turkey to join NATO again in March

NATO NATO in the world

Negotiations between Sweden, Finland and Turkey on NATO membership will resume in March. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson spoke about it. He says the parties have confirmed this.

The official did not specify the exact date of the negotiations, explaining that the parties are awaiting his approval. Write about this “Kommersant”.

Recall that Finland and Sweden applied for NATO membership in May 2022. Turkey was against expanding the alliance and accused the countries of harboring terrorists. Then there was another moment of crisis – the decision on Sweden was blocked. All this because of the action with the burning of the Koran at the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.

Earlier it became known that Ukrainians between the ages of 18 and 55 who wanted to leave the country via Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia to Russia, as well as from Poland to Belarus, were forced to return to Ukraine at Kiev’s request.
